ANNALÚ BORETTO

Italian artist Annaluigia Boretto's dreamy sculptures enchant onlookers by her incorporation of hyper-realistic splashes of water and rich brilliant colors. Her pieces evoke an imaginative journey by the use of intricately placed, seemingly suspended in time elements of nature.

Focusing on texture and an interest in illusion, Annalu's oeuvre is best known for her delicate splashing glassy sculptures. Born in Venice, Italy, Annalu undoubtedly incorporates her life on the lagoon as an inspiration for her works.

For several years she has been developing an international following for her captivating pieces. A disciple of metamorphosis, intent on penetrating the mysteries of creation, Annalu is able to assemble incongruous elements such as resins and paper, bark and glass wool, bitumen and sand, cement and roots, in order to create new realities, worlds suspended and imaginary architecture where alchemy is lightness. Her work features deeply lyrical and evocative characteristics, but also a huge formal impact, with images involving power and exalted symbolic allure.
